A relatively inexpensive solution might be.
A PC Running Logic Audio or Cubase SX ( I prefer PC due to the low cost
for pure processing power - and the fact that I rackmounted it with a
LCD monitor - very clean). The digital/analog converter I use is a MOTU
828 - 8x simultaneous ins/outs. My UB24 Behringer mixer is good for
bussing the appropriate ins/outs and managing all that stuff.
I have a patch bay (24a/b), headphone mixer and effects units (Frostwave
Resonator(emulates a Korg MS20 filter) and a Kaoss pad) which all tie
into this meatly. My Andy, Novation Supernova II (virtual analog) and
Kawai K5000s (additive) are all midi connected through 4x midi unit
(maudio) though you may want a 8x rack with all your gear. You might
also want to get a CV to midi converter or two if your gear is pre midi
- frostwave make a good one. For monitoring I found the most cost
effective solution is Behringer Truths, but this is up to you.
This solution cost me about $8,000 AU (appr. 5000eu).
You can check out the old studio set up (and our music made with this
setup) @ www.statlerandwaldorf.com.au
<http://www.statlerandwaldorf.com.au/> The new studio images (after
getting the fashion police in to make it over and with some new gear and
soundproofing) will be up tomorrow night.
Hope this helps.
