[A6] progam vs mix mode sound

Afaik, both the program and the mix have their own ARP 
settings. This allows one to use a non-ARPed program in a 
mix and have it ARPed without changing the program. So 
switch off the ARP setting in that mix channel.

You probably used one of the mix presets, and these are full 
of ARPs. Better use a clean, empty mix (like the ones 
written on an empty mix bank on a card), and start from 
there.
