[A6] freezing up/ strange displays

Hi all

I have recently aquired a used Andromeda and have
experienced the freezing problem. For me this happens
when I try to adjust some of the envelope parameters.
The display goes totally blank, or sometimes some
artifacts of the curves remain in display, and the
machine locks up totally. 
Interestingly, this phenomenon started after upgrading
to os 1.40.12. I downgraded back to the original
1.40.02, and now everything works perfectly. Has
anyone else noticed that this would have something to
do with os upgrade?
