I cannot stress enough how important it is to backup sounds on synths when
you plan on downloading or using any Sysex to Synth functions. A little
error on the part of the sysex transfer can cause all sorts of problems,
depending on how the synth responds to the messages.

I never had the same problem in MIX mode, but I DID have a simlar problem
with a patch I programmed myself. The patch was saved to the internal
memory space and when I dialed it up it would freeze the A6, then I was
unable to boot the A6, it would just hang on the bootup screen. I booted up
the A6 with one of the softkeys pushed in for starting it with a blank
preset, and deleted the offending patch after studying how I programmed it.
Ever since then, I haven't been able to replicate the same problem, ohh...
and I also updated the OS since then, so I figured it was an OS bug. The
point is that I didn't even download any sounds when that lockup happened to
me, so it's also possible that a patch can somehow freeze the A6 even when
it wasn't dumped via SysEx.
