Mine is definitely, as you describe, extended above the panel some. What I
meant by snug was that it appears that the ribbon controller may be glued
down (or maybe very tacky double-sided tape is used) as there are no buckles
or gaps between the ribbon controller itself and the surface it is
placed/installed against. It stays firmly in place as you move your fingers
up and down it. I hope this is the way it comes back.
