[A6] Buttons not working

For what it's worth (I understand the angst and frustration here!), Alesis
tech support fortunately continues to be extremely responsive to any problem
issues on the A6 -- I had a problem and they handled it faster than I ever
thought would be possible.
The A6 is a complex beastie. I'm sure help will be on the way.

Subject: Re: [A6] Buttons not working
There is probably a loose ribbon cable in the unit. Something similar
happened to me when I got my A6, my ribbon controller (the one on the
front panel) was intermittent. When I opened up the unit, I noticed that
the connector wasn't seated all the way into the socket. Alesis uses
inexpensive connectors that aren't locking, and sometimes put hot glue
on them but not always. I'll bet you could reseat the connectors on the
inside of the unit and that would fix the problem.
If you feel comfortable opening the unit up, I'll bet it's an easy fix.
It took me about an hour. If not, you should call Alesis for repair. You
could also try a soft reset, hold down soft button 4 on startup. But I
notice that's one of the buttons that aren't working, how ironic.
Holding down soft button 3 on startup is a hard rest which wipes out all
of your programs, so you could try that as a last resort.
Hope this helps, -jl
