hi i take the freedom to contact you as alesis support doesn't answer and hopefully some of you might be able to help with a problem i have encoutered on my new andro.
i have noticed on my new andro, (manufactured september 2001, version 1.40.02)
that as soon as i switch on FM, the voices stop being in tune and in rotate mode,
each time you strike the same key, the sound will be very different 16 times (so for all of teh voices). if you continue you start hearing the same different 16 sounds. so each voice responds differently to FM. this happens even though the unit is perfectly in tune.
i have tried everything (FM with noice OSC2 mod OSC1 mod starting from different sounds and a new patch etc.)
the only way to use FM under such circumstances is to switch it to mono and
static voice allocation to get always the same sound. you can't do poly sounds this way.
that is a serious limitation.
the calibration of the OSCs seems to be quite random for FM even though they are
perfectly in tune. is there a bug in the FM implementation?
thank you in advance
oliver
